Since opening in 2001, we have worked with thousands and thousands of moms and babies. Day in and day out, we help moms in their breastfeeding journey. We meet many moms for the first time when they come to MilkWorks for a breast pump or a nursing bra - and we see them again when they need additional support. Some moms work one-on-one with our IBCLCs, others use our free Baby Weigh Station or attend our weekly Mom Talk support groups, and some call to ask breastfeeding questions when the need arises.

We LOVE supporting moms - and it's always a treat to receive a positive review. This is just a sampling of What Moms Say about MilkWorks.
PS:  These testimonials were unsolicited, but we asked the moms for permission to share their comment and their photos!

"Before coming to Milkworks I was uneducated about breastfeeding and honestly a little nervous and uncomfortable with it. It wasn’t even until a couple days after we got home from the hospital that I decided I wanted to breastfeed. Not to mention my son was born 5 weeks early and had wasn’t eating well, never mind getting him to latch on my own. I booked my lactation consultation with little expectations. I was blown away by how much I learned and how much more confident and comfortable I became with breastfeeding. My lactation consultant (IBCLC) was so amazing and taught me so much! She was friendly and very easy to work with. Without her and Milkworks my breastfeeding journey would have been cut short, and I’m so glad it wasn’t! I cannot say thank you enough!!!" - Elly L.

"This place was life changing for me and my son. He was born in August of 15, the IBCLCs I saw were more than amazing. The person working the "front desk" was so kind and helpful. After being a successful past breastfeeder my third child threw me for a loop. It was painful problem after problem, I was distressed and so was he. So many people around me were saying to just give up, but as soon as I could leave the hospital I was driving the hour and a half to get help. MilkWorks O made it happen, through their knowledge and a few appointments I was able to breastfeed pain free. I am so thankful being from small town Nebraska we have the resources like MilkWorks available. In fact, I now have such a successful breasfeeder I'm trying my hardest to wean him, at 31 months!" - Kylie S.

"Without Milk Works, I wouldn't have made it very long as a first time breastfeeding mom. I encourage any mom, first time or not, to use their services from early on!" - Jackie M.

"I can’t begin to thank you girls enough... you are the most encouraging, helpful, kind, incredible people on the planet. My breastfeeding experience has not been easy these past 5 months and I know that if it weren’t for your support, I wouldn’t have even made it this far. Thank you for being so kind and gracious with a stressed out, emotional, hormonal, worried mama like me & for always encouraging me in beginning my journey through motherhood. You are all angels & I’m immensely thankful for every single one of you." - Keirstyn E.

"Thank you so much to your organization! I came in with my 8 week twins a couple days after my husband left for a deployment for some extra help. They had been extra fussy lately and difficult. Not only did my IBCLC help with improvement almost immediately, she also reassured me I was doing a good job and at that moment it was everything I needed. I’ll likely be back to make sure our issues are fixed/improving and that the girls are gaining appropriately. I only wish I had come in sooner and with my first daughter. It would’ve made the breastfeeding journey even better." - Caitlynn E.

"I will never forget my first experience at Milkworks O. I was 4 days postpartum and came into Milkworks O sobbing because I was in such pain from my breastfeeding experience. The Breastfeeding Educator at the front desk welcomed me with open arms even though I had no appointment. She helped me schedule a session immediately, pump and invited me into the mother’s breastfeeding group while I waited for my appointment.

Upon walking into the moms group, I was overwhelmed with emotion as I saw about 6 women breastfeeding. Thoughts were racing through my mind as I was sobbing: things like “wow these are amazing women”, “why can’t I do something so simple as feed my baby like them”...but I was stopped immediately in my feelings of inadequacy when the facilitator gave me a hug. An hour later, I met with an IBCLC for my first appointment and after several appointments and open conversations, all of my issues were resolved and I was successfully nursing my child.

If it weren’t for MilkWorks, I would have never made it through that first week. The compassion and love they showed me made all the difference in the world for me and I am incredibly grateful for them. The women at MilkWorks truly care about each and every woman and baby that walks through that door and I will NEVER forget my experience that first day. I would encourage anyone who is interested in breastfeeding to attend moms group or meet with one of the wonderful ladies for support, you will never regret it.

I can’t thank you enough for helping my breastfeeding journey be more successful than I ever imagined. You have no idea how much it means to me." - Ashley K.

"This place was seriously life changing for my baby and me. From the beginning my IBCLC helped me work with my newborn to learn how to breastfeed. It was tough and took a lot of work on my part at home but after working and working we both got it down! We learned many tips and tricks to make things easier and she taught us all about our bodies and how things were changing. I could not have done this successfully or maintained breastfeeding if I did not get the support from MilkWorks! I highly recommend coming here to anyone with questions or doubts or even just curiosity about breastfeeding!" - Chelsea F.

"MilkWorks is incredible, and all the rumors are true! I went in for help weaning my then 6 week old off of the nipple shield. The ease and comfort I felt working with my IBCLC was immediate and my little girl has been nursing sans nipple shield for over a week now, starting from day one! I would highly recommend MilkWorks for any of your lactation needs!"

"I love this place and the people who work there as well. They are knowledgeable and a wonderful resource for breastfeeding mothers in the Omaha metro area. From the weighted feed station, classes and support groups, IBCLCs, and adorable/practical retail items, it's obvious they care about the women who walk in their door. Keep up the great work ladies!" - Sarah Y.
