MilkWorks is a rental station for the Medela hospital grade Symphony breast pump and the Medela Baby Weigh electronic baby scale. Both Lincoln hospitals make a Symphony pump available for mothers who require a pump for use while in the hospital. The Symphony pump requires a personal pump kit. If you have used a Symphony in the hospital and you take your kit home with you, you do not need to purchase an additional kit. Because of demand, the Symphony is subject to availability based on medical need and a mother's access to a pump. Rental pumps and scales are available on a weekly or monthly basis. Pre-payment is required unless insurance coverage has been verified. Nebraska Medicaid plans cover the rental of a hospital grade breast pump with a physician's order. Private insurance coverage varies by plan. Current rental fees are $25 a week or $71 a month for both the Symphony pump and the Baby Weigh scale. The purchase price of a Symphony pump kit is $48. Mothers who are being seen by one of MilkWorks' lactation consultants may qualify for a short term use of a pump or scale at no cost as part of their consultation fee. Related information:
